Biography

Born in 1966, the director made his debut with “Mapado: Island of Fortunes” (2004) and later established himself with the melodrama “Late Blossom” (2010). The great success with critics and audiences came with the period film “Masquerade” (2012) which directed 12.3 million viewers, the second highest score ever in Korea at the time. He returns six years later with the thriller “Seven Years of Night” (2018).
