Jong-goo, the police officer leading the investigation, realizes the gravity of the situation when his beloved daughter, Hyo-jin, begins to behave strangely and then falls seriously ill. In his quest to uncover the true nature of the mysterious stranger and to help his daughter, a peculiar shaman also arrives in the village.
