Juhn Jai-hong was born in Seoul but soon traveled around different parts of the world crossing two continents before deciding to pursue his career as a director for good. His career began in New York but soon, captured by the poetry of 'Iron-3' by Kim Ki-duk, he decided to contact him in order to work with him, becoming one of the director's protégés. His first feature film "Beautiful" was presented at the fifty-eighth Busan Film Festival and won the Grand Prize at the Fukuoka Asian Film Festival in 2008.
