Born in 1968, he is a director and screenwriter. Among his most successful films are "Happy End" (1999) starring Jeon Do-yeon and Choi Min-sik and the controversial "Eun-gyo" (2012). His latest film "Heart Blackened", on the occasion of which he renewed his collaboration with Choi Min-sik, is the remake of the 2013 Chinese film directed by Fei Xing "Silent Witness".
