Kim Tae-kyun graduated from the Korea Academy of Film Arts and since then has embarked on an intense and fruitful career. His debut came with the spectacular The Adventures of Mrs. Park (1996), similar in hype to his third film, Volcano High, praised for its elaborate use of special effects and sensational martial arts performances. He also has romantic melodramas, Temptation of Wolves, and comedies with fresh and moving stories such as Barefoot dream.
