The cosmic nature of Korean cinema at the 24th Florence Korea Film Fest

Between space and imagination, organic life and contemporary vision, the visual identity of the Florence Korea Film Fest 2026 takes shape. We are thrilled to unveil the official poster of the 24th edition, which will be held in Florence from 19 to 28 March at the La Compagnia cinema.

The image chosen for this year is a pop-surreal work that captures the vibrant essence of current South Korean cinematography, capable of combining urban aesthetics with auteur depth.

A manifesto between flourishing and technology

In the center of the poster stands a female figure wearing a transparent astronaut helmet. But it is not oxygen that fills the space: it is an explosion of orchids, hibiscus and daisies.

This vision of “cosmic nature” symbolizes the creative energy that runs through the festival. The outfit of the protagonist, with a shiny jacket and burgundy heart pants, creates a perfect balance between K-pop suggestions and contemporary style, reflecting the ability of Korean cinema to speak a universal and modern language.

“Like the flowers in the astronaut’s helmet, the films we present are vital worlds, crossed by creative energy and expressive freedom,” says director Riccardo Gelli, who is behind the graphics of the poster. “The festival invites the public to breathe this cinema, where imagination is not escapism, but a force capable of making the gaze flourish.”

What to expect from Florence Korea Film Fest 2026

The 24th edition promises to be an immersive journey through South Korea’s genres and new trends. The program will include the sections most loved by our audience:

• Korean Horizons: the best blockbusters and the domestic blockbusters of 2025.
• Korean Cinema Today: a precious showcase on independent cinema and the most personal works.
• Corto, Corti! & Webtoon: space for new languages, from short films to the famous Korean digital comics.

There will be masterclasses, meetings with authors and cultural insights to experience Korean culture in Florence at 360 °.
