Hwang Byeong-gug ha iniziato la sua carriera nel cinema come assistente alla regia nel film “City of the Rising Sun” di Kim Sung-soo. Come regista ha diretto le pellicole “Wedding Campaign” (2005) e “S.I.U. (Special Investigation Unit)” (2011). Ha inoltre preso parte come attore a diversi film, come “The Unjust” (2010), “Veteran” (2015), “Inside men” (2015), “12.12: The Day” (2024). “Yadang: The Snitch” è il suo ultimo film.
