Florence Korea Film Fest
Festival of Korean Cinema in Italy
The festival has been organized since 2003 by the Florentine Cultural Association Taegukgi – Toscana Korea Association.
The objective of the Festival, in addition to cultural and institutional cooperation between Italy and Korea, is to promote the seductive Korean cultural universe through the magnifying glass of the big screen, art exhibitions and conferences.
Between premieres and contemporary classics, the festival, the only one of its kind in the whole of Italy, offers documentaries, short films, feature films and extensive retrospectives on the main directors of Korean cinematography, with the participation of the authors themselves. Since 2007, the Association has been promoting not only Korean Cinema in Italy but also Italian cinema in South Korea, collaborating with the country’s major festivals in programming retrospectives and reviews of the protagonists of our cinema in their schedules.
The Florence Korea Film Fest has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with one of Korea’s most important festivals – JIFF – Jeonju International Film Festival. The festival also collaborates with the BIFF – Busan International Film Festival, Korea’s premier festival and the most important festival in Asia.
