Born in 1976, Choi Kook-hee studied at the University of Wisconsin, in the United States, where he graduated with a degree in cinema. Back in Korea, he worked with Hong Sang-so, one of his favorite directors, on "Tale of Cinema" (2005). He made his feature film directorial debut in 2016 with the drama film "SPLIT", continuing with the historical financial drama "Default" (2018) starring Vincent Cassel.
