Biography

Born in Busan in 1983, Hong Seok-jae studied Performance Film Creation at Chung-Ang University. After graduating in 2009, he majored in filmmaking at the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KOFA). During his university studies he made the short film Election, screened at the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan). The following ones, during his years at the Academy, are Love Fee and Keep Quiet, winner of the Special Jury Prize and Audience Award at the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival. Socialphobia is his first feature film, in collaboration with KOFA.
