Born in 1974, he graduated in directing from the Korean National University of Arts. At first he established himself as a director of successful short films presented at many festivals. His directorial debut was in 2004 with the romantic comedy "Love So Divine", followed by Herb (2006) and "Little Black Dress" (2011). "A Little Princess" is his fifth feature film.
