Born in 1945, Lee Jang-ho began his career in 1965 at Sheen Film, and made his debut in 1974 with "Heavenly Homecoming to Stars". Since his "A good windy day" (1980) he has been the inspirer of a sort of cinematic new wave that investigates the dark side of Korean society of the period. In 1988 he was awarded at the Berlin Film Festival for two of his films, both in competition: "Declaration of Idiot" and "A Wanderer, Never Stops on the Road". In 1997 he combined his activity as a director with the commitment of Executive Director of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. After a few years of absence, he returned to directing in 2011. He is currently a collaborator of the Seoul Film Commission.
