Biography

Born in Seoul in 1964, Lee Jeong-hyang first studied French language and literature at Sogang University, and then enrolled at the Korean Academy of Fine Arts. He took his first steps in cinema by making the documentary "A place for Eve" (1989) and working as an assistant director, among others for Lee Chang-ho's "Declaration of genius" (1995). He directed his first feature film "Art Museum by the Zoo" in 1998. In 2002, with his second film "The Way Home" he achieved an unexpected triumph at the Korean box office. His third film "A Reason to Live" was presented at the Busan International Film Festival in 2011.
