Born in Seoul in 1969, he graduated in film directing from Hanyang University and obtained a master's degree in film from New York University. After graduating, he worked as a producer in New York, then making his directorial debut in his homeland in 2012 with "Azooma". He is currently a professor at the Korean Film Academy of Arts. In 2015 he wrote and directed "No Tomorrow".
