Lee made a name for himself with a series of successful short films, including "Papa" (2004), winner of the Korean Film Archive Award at the Seoul Independent Film Festival, and "Enemy's Apple" (2007), which won the award for best short film and best cinematography at the Mise-en-scene Short Film Festival. In 2013 the director tried his hand at his first feature film, "Han Gong-ju", which won various awards in national and international festivals.
