Ounie Lecomte was born in Seoul in 1966 and left Korea for France at the age of 9 when she was adopted by a Protestant pastor. Following her studies as a fashion designer, she worked for various films, as an actress for Olivier Assays (Paris s'éveille) and as a costume designer for Sophie Fillières. In 1991 she returned to Korea to play the part of a young woman abandoned during childhood in search of her roots. The film is not shot, but reality exceeds fantasy and Lecomte finds her biological family. In 2006 he joined Eve Deboise's Fémis Screenwriting Workshop, an experience from which "A Brand New Life" was born.
