After graduating from the Korean Academy of Film Arts, she distinguished herself at the Busan Short Film Festival by receiving numerous awards for her short film "Free to Fly" (1997). She later worked as a screenwriter and assistant director for the film "Organ in My Heart" (1999), then continued to write other films as well. "Circle of Atonement" (2015) is his debut behind the camera.
