Born in 1965, he obtained a master's degree in filmology from the Free University of Berlin. With an excellent reputation as a short film maker, he made his debut as a director of a feature film in 2005 with "The Twins" followed in 2006 by "The Railroad" presented at the Busan Film Festival and winner of the FRIPRESCI award at the Turin Film Festival. After almost a decade he returns to direct "Twenty Again" choosing to shoot his third film almost entirely in Italy.
