Born in 1966, Ryu Jang-ha showed his great passion and dedication to the world of cinema from the beginning of his studies: he graduated from the well-known Korean Academy of Film Arts as one of the best students, and then began working as an assistant alongside director Hye Jin-ho, who recognized his talent and also recruited him for a second film, "One fine spring day" this time in the dual role of assistant and screenwriter. Strengthened by these experiences, Ryu Jang-ha becomes an independent director; he began to shoot his first films and "Springtime" marked his film debut as a director.
