The director boasts a brief but dense cinematographic activity. Within a year he achieved fame as a screenwriter of two important films, "I Saw the Devil" and "The Unjust", directed in 2010 respectively by Kim Jee-woon and Ryoo Seung-wan, two big names in contemporary Korean cinema. The following year he made his directorial debut with "The Showdown", and in 2013 he directed and wrote the screenplay for "New World", winner of the Blue Dragon Award.
