Born in South Korea in 1974, he made his debut in 2008 with the film "The Chaser" which earned him the awards for best director at the Grand Bell Awards and Korean Film Awards. In 2011 he presented his second film "The Yellow Sea" in Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section. Also in Cannes, "The Wailing" debuted in 2016, winner of numerous awards for best director including the Blue Dragon Film Award and the Director's Cut Award.
Na Hong-jin is the director and screenwriter of all his works.
